Gerardo Herrero Director / Productor Gerardo Herrero Pérez-Gamir nace en Madrid el 28 de Enero de 1953. Es licenciado en derecho por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Estudios de Ciencias Políticas y estudió un Master de Cine en la Universidad de Berkeley en California. Entre los años 1993 y 1994 presidió la Real Academia de la Ciencias y las Artes Cinematográficas de España. Es miembro fundador de la Escuela de Cine de la Comunidad de Madrid y promotor del Programa Ibermedia, fondo para el desarrollo de la industria audiovisual iberoamericana. Desde el año 1997 hasta el año 2000, fue el Presidente de la FAPAE (Federación de Productores de España). Secretario General de FIPCA (Federación Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematográficos) hasta el 2001. Director del Curso de Desarrollo de Proyectos Cinematográficos Iberoamericanos Casa de América, Fundación Carolina, la Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de Productores Audiovisuales (EGEDA), Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte y Programa Ibermedia desde el año 2003. Como productor ha recibido un gran número de premios entre ellos cabe destacar, Oscar a la mejor película extranjera por la película “El Secreto de sus Ojos” dirigida por Juan José Campanella. León de Plata en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Venecia por “Balada Triste de Trompeta”, de Alex de la Iglesia. Palma de Oro en el Festival de Cannes por “El Viento que Agita la Cebada”, de Ken Loach. Como director destaca “Las Razones de mis Amigos”, ganó el premio especial del jurado en la Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid, “Los Aires Difíciles” Biznaga de Oro del Festival de Málaga a la mejor película ó “Heroína” película premiada por el Festival de Málaga como mejor director. Ha participado a concurso en festivales como Berlín, San Sebastián, Montreal etc... Entre todas sus películas producidas ha recibido más de 80 premios. COMO DIRECTOR: 1993 NI CONTIGO NI SIN TI.
